Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question:
I am in the process of purchasing this lot in LA County~ APN: 5230014023 (between 1040~1050 de garmo dr)
I am in the process of doing the due diligence and need to find out if it has any previously reported land/soil/zone issues that would thwart development. I tried using the Building Permit Viewer but the site just gives me an infinite Loading Data spinning icon. I am mainly concerned with soil contamination, mudslide or erosion vulnerabilities, or anything that would be prohibitive to construction development. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Answer:
The Development Review Section of Geotechnical and Materials Engineering Division does not have any records for the subject property. In addition, County Policy prevents us from providing recommendations to the Public on geology for real estate transactions. We would highly recommend you seek such opinions from a private consultant geologist and/or geotechnical engineer. You may also search the CA Geological Survey website at https://www.conservation.ca.gov/cgs/geohazards/eq-zapp for geologic hazard information pertaining to the property.
