The County of Los Angeles operates and maintains 11 permanent Smart Gardening Learning Centers located throughout the County. These learning centers are equipped with various educational and demonstration materials designed to enhance our Smart Gardening workshops. Each center has a variety of backyard composting bins, a worm composting bin, as well as a variety of plants demonstrating water-wise gardening. Some of the centers also include grass recycling demonstration areas that are used to show residents how easy and beneficial grass recycling can be. These centers are open to the public during our regularly scheduled workshops. The centers marked with an asterisk are also open during regular work hours of the operating facilities. You are welcome to take a tour at these centers during that time.
