Los Angeles County Geographic Information System Advisory Body
With the start of a new millenium, we
anticipate new innovations in GIS technology and we expect a lot of excitement in the Los
Angeles County GIS community. The mission of the Los Angeles County Geographic Information
System Advisory Body (GISAB) is "To
coordinate the development of Geographic Information Systems to meet mandated and
informational needs of both the public and member agencies in a cost-effective manner."
Through quarterly meetings we can promote, coordinate, share, and develop effective GIS
strategies and goals throughout the County. The GISAB is made up of representatives from
the various Los Angeles County departments and agencies. Within GISAB there are several
subgroups focusing on specific issues, Technical, Planning, and Marketing.
